2027: SDP presidential candidate speaks on stepping down for better presidential candidate

Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) presidential candidate in 2023, has stated that he is open to withdrawing from the 2027 race if the party selects a more capable candidate.

During an interview on Channels Television’s Inside Sources, Adebayo highlighted his trust in divine guidance, saying, “We don’t know who will be alive in 2027. God determines the future.”

He further expressed that his ambition should not hinder Nigeria’s progress.

“If there is someone better equipped to solve Nigeria’s challenges, I am ready to step aside.

“The goal is to have a nation that truly works,” he stated.

Adebayo also reiterated the SDP’s commitment to providing Nigerians with a strong contender in the 2027 election, saying the party is focused on fielding a candidate who can unseat President Bola Tinubu.
