I won’t be stopped from returning home – Natasha responds to Kogi Gov’s ban

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents the Kogi Central Senatorial District, has firmly stated that no one can stop her from visiting her hometown in Okehi, Kogi State, despite the ban on political rallies and gatherings imposed by Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo.

In defiance of the governor’s proclamation, Akpoti-Uduaghan made it clear that she intends to participate in the Sallah celebrations as planned.

She highlighted her deep connection to her heritage, declaring her identity as an Ebira woman and the daughter of the late Jimoh Abdul Akpoti, and emphasized that no one could intimidate or prevent her return.

“I’m an Ebira woman; this is my land. I’m the daughter of the late Jimoh Abdul Akpoti. I know where I come from, and I’m not a bastard. I’m not afraid of anyone,” Akpoti-Uduaghan declared during her homecoming event.

Prior to her arrival, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police had urged Akpoti-Uduaghan to cancel her planned rally, citing concerns that it violated the governor’s order and could disrupt public peace.

He also mentioned intelligence reports suggesting the possibility of the rally being hijacked by troublemakers.

Additionally, Amoka Monday, the Local Government Chairman of Okehi LGA, imposed a curfew in the area, warning that anyone found loitering or gathering would face arrest and prosecution.

In response, Akpoti-Uduaghan reassured her supporters that her homecoming would proceed as planned, and she held the Kogi State Governor, the Police, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio accountable for any potential violence that might arise.
