The people of Akungba-Akoko in Ondo State have a new regent, Princess Adeyemi Faith Ajimo of the Ole Ruling House, following the passing of Alale of Akungba-Akoko, Oba Isaac Sunday Adeyeye Ajimo III on March 3, 2025.
The 25-year-old university graduate’s appointment was announced in a letter to the Chairman of Akoko South West Local Government Area, signed by the Alale Council of Chiefs.
The Appointment Process
The Alale Council of Chiefs, comprising:
– High Chief Alakun of Igbelu Quarters
– High Chief Olubaka of Ibaka Quarters
– High Chief Olukusa of Okusa Quarters
– High Chief Asalu of Akua Quarters
– High Chief Alagure of Ilale Quarters
unanimously requested that Princess Adeyemi Faith Ajimo, the first daughter of the immediate past Oba, sit as regent on the throne pending the installation of a substantive Oba.

The Alale Council of Chiefs has solicited full government recognition, acceptance, and support for the newly appointed Regent, Princess Adeyemi Faith Ajimo, urging the council boss to communicate this desire to relevant stakeholders in Akoko South West and Ondo State Chieftaincy Affairs Matters.
