Easter Holiday: FG declares April 18, 21 work-free days

The Federal Government has announced that Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, will be public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations.

This was made known by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

The Minister congratulated Christians across the country as they commemorate the Easter season, urging them to reflect on the values of selflessness, love, and sacrifice demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

He also encouraged citizens to use the period to pray for the peace, progress, and unity of the nation, adding that these virtues are essential for national development.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to building a more prosperous and secure Nigeria through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He further called on Nigerians to show love to one another, especially the less privileged, during this festive period.

The Minister concluded by wishing Christians a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration and extended warm greetings to all Nigerians.
