Singer Portable granted ₦1m bail over defamation case

A court in Ilorin, Kwara State has approved bail for controversial music artist Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, following his arraignment on allegations of defamation and other related offenses.

The charges against the singer include criminal defamation, cyberstalking, intimidation, and incitement of public unrest.

These legal proceedings come after a petition was filed by Fuji musician Saheed Osupa.

The Upper Area Court granted Portable bail in the sum of ₦1 million, with the condition that two sureties must stand for him.

One of the sureties is required to be an executive member—either Chairman or Secretary—of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria.

The other must be a property owner within a Government Reserved Area (GRA) and must present a valid Certificate of Occupancy.

Further details on the case will be provided as developments unfold.
