Five confirmed dead, campus on lockdown as gunmen invade university

Florida State University’s Tallahassee campus became the scene of a deadly mass shooting on Thursday, where five people lost their lives in a violent attack near the student union.

The police confirmed that two armed individuals carried out the shooting around noon.

One suspect was shot dead by officers, while the other has been arrested. Their identities remain undisclosed.

At least four more victims sustained injuries, including one in life-threatening condition, according to medical personnel at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.

Footage circulating online shows emergency responders tending to victims as chaos and confusion spread through the university grounds.

In response to the violence, local authorities have placed the campus under lockdown and advised residents to stay indoors and keep away from windows as investigations continue.
