Ondo police Commissioner seeks security partnership with fulani leaders

The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, has called for stronger collaboration with the Fulani community to enhance security across the state.

During a security meeting in Owo, Afolabi emphasized the need for cooperation between the police and community leaders to improve safety. He urged the Fulani leaders to remain vigilant and avoid providing refuge to criminals under any pretense.

He also encouraged them to share credible intelligence that could assist in tackling crimes such as kidnapping while complementing the efforts of security agencies.

Addressing the ongoing herders-farmers tensions, the police commissioner stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence. He warned against grazing on farmlands, noting that mutual respect is essential to prevent conflicts and sustain livelihoods.

In response, the Fulani leaders praised the police for their efforts in maintaining law and order.

They expressed their commitment to peace and assured the police of their support in combating crime by sharing relevant information.

The Ondo State Police Command reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring the safety of all residents and fostering a secure environment in the state.
