Nottingham Forest eyes shock transfer to snatch Osimhen from rival clubs

Nottingham Forest is plotting an ambitious bid to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, potentially beating Manchester United to his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Super Eagles forward has been on Manchester United’s radar as they look to strengthen their attack, but the Red Devils may now face unexpected competition.

Reports from TEAMtalk indicate that Forest is targeting Osimhen as part of their push to secure a top-class striker.

This will be in particular if they secure a Champions League spot by finishing in the Premier League’s top five.

Evangelos Marinakis, the club’s owner, is keen on bringing in a world-class goal scorer for Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad.

Forest has also been linked with Viktor Gyökeres, another target for Manchester United, but the Swedish striker has reportedly shown no interest in joining them.

Osimhen, who was loaned to Galatasaray after falling out of favour at Napoli, has had a stellar season with 26 goals in 30 matches.

While Manchester United had been expected to move for him upon his return to Napoli, Nottingham Forest’s sudden interest could disrupt those plans.

Despite the challenge of attracting a high-profile striker, Forest remains resolute in their pursuit.

If Osimhen joins, he will reunite with his Nigerian compatriots Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina at the club.
