The internal crisis within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has worsened, with Senator Nicholas Tofowomo openly criticizing the party leadership, calling them traitors.
Tofowomo also accused the leaders of deceiving Kennedy Peretei, the party’s former spokesperson, by failing to honor their commitment to offer him the state chairmanship position, leading to his resignation from the party.
“The leadership of the party owes Peretei an apology for misleading him and betraying his trust,” Tofowomo stated. “They had specifically invited him to express interest in the chairmanship, and if they hadn’t, my anger wouldn’t have been this intense. Our party suffered a crushing defeat across all 18 local governments, ending with a 18-0 loss.”
He further questioned, “Am I to blame for the party’s poor performance in other local governments, including Ajayi’s ward? Isn’t it a fact that our candidate didn’t even secure a win in his own ward? I am a committed member of the PDP, and I’ve always paid my dues.”
