NNPP dead, Kwankwaso will return to APC soon – National Chairman, Ganduje

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has asserted that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is “finished” and forecasted that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, will soon return to the APC.

Ganduje made the statement on Tuesday while hosting the Tinubu Support Group at the APC national headquarters in Abuja.

He expressed assurance that Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano State and current NNPP leader, would eventually rejoin the APC, highlighting that the party is always ready to accept former members who wish to return.

“We continue to receive politicians and lawmakers from across the country, and we are open to welcoming anyone who wishes to come back to the party,” Ganduje remarked.

On the future of the NNPP, Ganduje described the party as having lost its relevance and nearing its end.

“The NNPP is no longer relevant. It is almost finished and will soon be buried. I am optimistic that preparations for its final burial are already underway,” he said.

Ganduje further speculated that Kwankwaso, despite his political setbacks, is likely considering a return to the APC.

“Even now, after losing a significant portion of his support, the leader of the NNPP is looking to rejoin us. We will gladly accept him, as he is coming back to where he truly belongs,” Ganduje added.

He also dismissed the strength of the opposition, predicting that any coalition formed to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the 2027 elections would ultimately dissolve, with key figures returning to the APC.
