Bayelsa Court stops pro-Wike rally in Yenagoa

A Bayelsa State High Court has issued an interim injunction preventing associates of Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, from holding a planned rally in Yenagoa on April 12, 2025.

The ruling was delivered on Thursday by Justice I. A. Uzakah in response to an ex-parte motion filed by the state’s Attorney General, Biriyai Dambo (SAN), under Suit No. BYHC/YHC/CV/133/2025.

Among those named as defendants in the case are the rally’s chief organizer, George Turnah, and Minister Wike. Also listed are the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police.

The matter has been scheduled for hearing on April 11, 2025.
