AAC elects woman as governorship candidate to challenge Soludo in Anambra election

The African Action Congress (AAC) has officially chosen Miss Chioma Ifemeludike as its candidate for the Anambra State governorship election set for November 2025.

Ifemeludike emerged victorious in the party’s primary election and will now compete against the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, along with candidates from other political parties.

The event, where AAC National Chairman Comrade Omoyele Sowore was represented by Dr. Sam Ajeigbe, the National Treasurer of the party, marked a key moment in the party’s preparations for the election.

Mr. Oshiokhe Ikpeminoghena, chairman of the election committee, affirmed that the party had a constitutional duty to present a candidate and confirmed that Ifemeludike had met all qualifications required to run for the governorship race.

In her acceptance speech, Ifemeludike expressed her commitment to the trust placed in her and pledged to empower the people of Anambra, particularly women, children, and youths, to become better citizens and contribute to the state’s growth.

Miss Ifemeludike, a native of Eziowele in Idemili North Local Government Area, was unanimously nominated through an affirmation vote by party members at the congress.
