Ortom congratulates Benue indigenes appointed to NCDC board

-

Former Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, has applauded the appointment of three Benue natives to the board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) by President Bola Tinubu.

The appointees are Barrister Cosmas Akighir, named as Chairman; Hon. James Abel Uloko, who will serve as Executive Director; and Engineer Abraham Atotse, appointed as a board member.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Ortom commended the appointments, describing the individuals as competent and capable of delivering on the commission’s objectives.

He said their selection reflects a thoughtful decision to entrust leadership to individuals who understand the peculiar challenges of the North Central region.

According to Ortom, the newly appointed board members are expected to contribute meaningfully to rebuilding and restoring communities in the region, many of which have been ravaged by violent attacks and insecurity.

He expressed confidence that Akighir, Uloko, and Atotse will bring their expertise and dedication to the commission’s work, especially in addressing the socio-economic impact of armed conflicts on affected populations.

The former governor also wished them success in their new responsibilities, urging them to serve with integrity and commitment.

The North Central Development Commission was established to oversee recovery and development efforts in the region, focusing on rebuilding infrastructure, supporting displaced populations, and promoting economic growth.
