A deadly ambush by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen disrupted a bus journey on the Otukpo-Adoka route in Benue State on Sunday night, leaving the driver dead and all passengers kidnapped.
MCC gathered that the bus, which left Abuja heading to Otukpo, came under attack around 11 p.m.
The armed group reportedly shot at the vehicle upon spotting it, striking the driver and causing the bus to crash into nearby bushes.
After the vehicle came to a halt, the attackers allegedly seized every passenger and disappeared into the wilderness.
The bus was left behind, and the body of the deceased driver was later recovered and taken to his community.
Security agencies, including military personnel, arrived shortly after and have commenced operations to locate and apprehend the suspects.
