The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has linked the recent power supply disruption in Lagos to damage on the Omotoso–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line.
In a statement on Tuesday, TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah disclosed that the incident, which took place on Sunday between Towers 420 and 422, led to a reduction of about 350 megawatts of electricity supply.
This affected both Eko and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Companies, resulting in significant load shedding in their coverage areas.
She noted that TCN had dispatched engineers to the site and delivered necessary materials to fix the damaged sections of the transmission line.
“The repair work is expected to be completed within three days, after which bulk power supply will be fully restored,” Mbah stated.
The company apologized for the inconvenience caused to the Lagos State government, electricity providers, and consumers, assuring them of a swift resolution to the issue.
