Prophet declares three-day national fast, warns of impending crisis

Apostle Ezekiel Oyediran Oyedele, the spiritual leader of Christ Gospel Apostolic Church (CGAC) Worldwide, has called for a nationwide three-day fasting and prayer session, citing a divine revelation about an impending crisis.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, the cleric urged Nigerians, regardless of religious affiliation, to seek divine intervention from February 24 to 26, 2025.

He emphasized that the nation must repent and turn to God for mercy, referencing 2 Chronicles 7:14 as the foundation of his message.

While he did not specify the nature of the crisis, Prophet Oyedele stressed that the call to prayer was for all believers in God, including Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths.

His prophecy has sparked mixed reactions among religious leaders and citizens, with some embracing the call for spiritual action while others remain skeptical. Given Nigeria’s ongoing economic struggles, security concerns, and political uncertainties, many are paying close attention to the cleric’s message.

Government authorities have yet to respond to the proclamation, but analysts note that in a country where religion significantly influences public life, such warnings could shape public discourse and even impact government decisions.

As February 24 approaches, all eyes will be on how widely the call to prayer is embraced and whether it will have any tangible effect on Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.

Prophet Oyedele also referenced past revelations he claimed to have received, including predictions about rising food prices in 2013 and a global epidemic in 2017, which he believes materialized as the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019.
