NNPP confirms Kwankwaso’s expulsion, warns against disruptive actions

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has officially ratified the expulsion of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Buba Galadima, and members of the Kwankwassiya faction during its national convention.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, the newly elected National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Major, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to implementing a court ruling that mandates the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize the Board of Trustees (BoT) led by Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam.

During the convention, the party endorsed all congresses held at various levels—ward, local government, state, and zonal—while rejecting a proposed new party logo, opting instead to retain the original design.

Dr. Agbo urged Kwankwaso’s supporters to either align with the party’s leadership or leave peacefully, warning against any attempts to destabilize NNPP.

In a move to strengthen its internal structures, the party also conducted a financial review and expressed confidence that INEC would soon update its records to reflect the leadership changes.

Speaking on potential alliances, Dr. Agbo clarified that while the NNPP remains open to political partnerships that serve the interests of Nigerians, the party is not currently engaged in discussions with any group.

“As a party, we are not opposed to forming alliances if they are in the interest of Nigerians,” he stated.

“However, at this moment, we are not in talks with any political party. We urge the media to verify any claims regarding NNPP’s position directly from the party’s secretariat.”

He reassured members that NNPP remains focused and united as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.
