The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into claims of harassment made by popular On-Air Personality, Omotunde Adebowale-David, widely known as Lolo1, against police officers attached to a government official’s convoy.
On February 26, 2025, Lolo1 took to Instagram Live to share what she described as an unfair and distressing encounter with law enforcement officers in Lagos.
She alleged that police escorts stopped her vehicle, seized her car keys, and accused her of causing damage to a government official’s car after his convoy forced her off the road—an accusation she strongly denied.
According to her, the officers were the ones who scratched her car before forcibly taking her keys.
In response to inquiries, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, had personally contacted Lolo1 and invited her to provide a full account of the incident.
“The Commissioner of Police has reached out to Lolo to hear her side of the story. He has also assured that any officer found guilty will be appropriately sanctioned,” Hundeyin stated.
A video circulating online shows Lolo1 and a male colleague attempting to retrieve her car keys from the officers.
In an interview with News Central, she further recounted her ordeal, revealing that she was also instructed to enter a police vehicle.
“It was a frightening experience, and I am still shaken. I decided to go live on Instagram to document everything in real time, so people could witness what was happening,” she explained.
The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted, with necessary actions taken against any officers found culpable.
