The Traffic Monitoring and Investigation Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, has impounded 57 commercial vehicles and tricycles for traffic violations.

The ministry’s Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Bolanle Ogunlola, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lagos.

Mrs Ogunlola noted that the vehicles and tricycles were seized when the unit conducted a comprehensive enforcement operation around the Iyana Ipaja garage and its connecting roads.

She said that the unit focused on both inbound and outbound traffic.

She stated, “During the exercise, 57 commercial vehicles and tricycles were impounded for various traffic violations, including illegal parking, picking up passengers at undesignated spots, resulting in obstruction of traffic. This operation effectively cleared the area of vehicular congestion caused by these infractions, restoring smooth traffic flow and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.’’
