Kwara man recovered dead from well

On Sunday, a man whose identity remains unknown was found dead inside a domestic well in Ilorin.

The man, estimated to be around 38 years old, was recovered by personnel from the Kwara State Fire Service during a rescue operation on Aliara Street in the Manjasurawa Area of Ilorin.

Hassan Adekunke, spokesperson for the Kwara State Fire Service, confirmed the discovery in a statement released on Sunday evening. He noted that the body was handed over to the police at the Ganmo Police Station in the Ifelodun local government area.

According to Adekunke, “At approximately 08:23 hours on Sunday, August 4, 2024, the Kwara State Fire Service was called to a rescue operation at Aliara Street, Manjasurawa Area, Ilorin. An unidentified man, estimated to be about 38 years old, was found drowned in a domestic well.

“The fire service personnel promptly conducted the rescue operation and retrieved the man’s body. It has since been handed over to DCO Olatunji of the Nigeria Police Force, Ganmo Division. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident,” the statement concluded.
