Kinsmen reject Nwaeke’s allegations, reaffirm support for Fubara

Leaders from Omuma Local Government Area in Rivers State have distanced themselves from claims made by former Head of Service (HoS), George Nwaeke, against the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

They described his accusations as baseless and insisted that they remain loyal to Fubara.

Nwaeke had alleged that corruption under Fubara’s administration was unprecedented, stating, “The level of stealing of public funds and assets witnessed in the last two years is mind-boggling.”

He also claimed that Fubara ordered the burning of the Rivers State House of Assembly and orchestrated pipeline explosions.

However, speaking on behalf of Omuma stakeholders, Maximus Nwafor condemned Nwaeke’s statements, saying, “We never imagined he would resort to such blatant falsehood against a man who has prioritized Omuma’s welfare.”

Nwafor further alleged that Nwaeke, after resigning, sought financial assistance from Fubara and his Chief of Staff but turned against them when his requests were not granted.

“His actions suggest he has been compromised,” Nwafor added.

Meanwhile, Nwaeke’s wife, Florence, claimed that her husband had been coerced into making those allegations.

“He has been kidnapped. That interview was made under duress,” she insisted.

Despite his wife’s assertion, Nwaeke maintained that his allegations were genuine and that he would present evidence to security agencies when required.
