In a bid to restore order and safeguard Plateau communities, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has introduced a series of emergency restrictions.
As of Wednesday, April 16, grazing cattle at night and moving them by vehicle after 7pm have been officially banned.
Similarly, motorcycle operations are restricted between 7pm and 6am throughout the state.
The governor made this announcement during a public broadcast, denouncing the relentless attacks on residents as part of a broader scheme to forcefully displace them from their lands.
Highlighting past attacks in areas such as Riyom, Mangu, and Bokkos, Mutfwang maintained that Plateau people must never become accustomed to a life of fear. “This cycle of violence must be broken,” he stated.
He emphasized that the government would enhance law enforcement and community protection efforts, calling for lawful participation from citizens in defending their homes.
