Former Immigration Comptroller-General found dead in Abuja hotel

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed that former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), David Shikfu Parradang, was discovered dead in his Abuja hotel room, contrary to initial reports suggesting he was kidnapped and murdered.

According to the police, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel at Area 3 Junction on March 3, 2025, around noon.

He arrived in a black Mercedes Benz and paid ₦22,000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after settling in, he requested a hotel staff member to escort a female guest to his room.

The woman reportedly left the premises around 4:00 PM.

Concerns were raised when Parradang did not emerge from his room.

In the early hours of March 4, a military officer who was his friend decided to check on him. Accompanied by hotel staff, the officer entered the room and found him unresponsive, seated in a chair.

Authorities from Durumi Police Station were alerted and arrived at the scene to secure the area, take photographs, and gather evidence.

His body was later transported to the National Hospital for further examination.

Investigators are currently questioning hotel staff and working to locate the female guest who visited him before his death.

Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command has urged the public to disregard speculations linking his death to kidnapping or assassination, emphasizing that an investigation is ongoing to determine the actual cause.
