FCTA moves to digitalize IRS operations with Microsoft 365 license

In a bid to modernize tax administration, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has approved the acquisition of a Microsoft 365 license for the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS).

The agency’s Acting Executive Chairman, Michael Ango, disclosed this after attending the FCT Executive Committee meeting, presided over by Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja.

According to Ango, the investment aligns with FCTA’s broader strategy to leverage technology for enhanced revenue collection.

The Microsoft 365 license will help automate many existing manual processes, making the agency’s operations more efficient.

“This investment will not only improve communication across our offices but also facilitate a seamless transition to digital processes,” Ango explained.

He further noted that digitization would significantly cut down paper usage and enable secure cloud-based storage of vital records, ensuring better data management.

Ango emphasized that this initiative would ultimately improve revenue generation, supporting infrastructural and economic development in the Federal Capital Territory under Wike’s leadership.
