Democracy Day: FG unveils programme outline for 25th celebration

The federal government has revealed a comprehensive schedule of events to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Democracy Day, marking a quarter-century of uninterrupted democratic governance in Nigeria.

Abdulhakeem Adeoye, acting on behalf of the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), issued a notice detailing the planned activities.

The celebration kicks off on Tuesday, June 11, with a symposium slated to take place at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja, starting at 9:00 am. Following the symposium, a youth conference is scheduled at Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja, commencing at 6:00 pm.

On Wednesday, June 12, a grand parade will be held at Eagle Square, Abuja, starting at 8:00 AM, followed by a dinner at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja, at 6:00 PM.

In addition to the outlined events, the notice assures that further updates will be provided as the celebration approaches.
