Bobrisky reveals $990 loss in online romance scam, issues warning

Nigerian crossdresser and socialite, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, known as Bobrisky, has shared details of a recent online romance scam in which he lost $990 to a fraudster.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Bobrisky expressed his shock and disappointment, admitting he never expected to fall victim to such a scam.

He explained that he had been in contact with the scammer for several months, who claimed to have lived in the United States before moving to Canada.

Throughout their communication, the scammer regularly called and seemed genuinely interested in Bobrisky’s life.

“I never imagined I’d become a target in this way,” Bobrisky confessed. “This guy reached out to me through direct messages, and we had been talking for months. He would call me almost every day, claiming he had moved from the USA to Canada.”

The situation took a turn when a client from the U.S. contacted Bobrisky about advertising, asking to make a deposit via CashApp. The scammer then offered his CashApp details to help Bobrisky receive the payment.

“Weeks later, a U.S. client reached out for ads and needed to make a deposit. I asked the guy I had been talking to for help, and he offered to give me his CashApp. But as soon as he received the money, he blocked me,” Bobrisky explained.

To alert his followers, Bobrisky posted screenshots of their conversations and a picture of the suspected scammer, advising them to be wary of similar scams.
