Hamdiyya Sharif, a well-known activist and outspoken critic of the Sokoto State Governor, has been found in Zamfara State after being declared missing earlier today.
Her lawyer, Abba Hikima, who first alerted the public to her disappearance on Tuesday, revealed the latest development in a Hausa-language post shared on Facebook this Wednesday.
According to him, Hamdiyya is currently receiving medical care at the Bakura General Hospital in Zamfara.
Her condition is said to be critical, and she is currently under the watch of security personnel for protection.
Hikima confirmed that the activist had been abducted before being discovered and rushed to the hospital.
The case, which drew attention, has triggered widespread concern among the public and on social media platforms.
This disturbing development has renewed fears over the safety of political activists and government critics in northern Nigeria, with many calling for thorough investigations and stronger protections for dissenting voices.
