President Bola Tinubu has presented a ₦1.48 trillion budget request for Rivers State to the National Assembly, calling for immediate deliberation and passage.
The proposal comes in response to the Supreme Court’s annulment of the state’s 2025 fiscal plan and the prevailing emergency rule in the region.
Breakdown of the proposed allocation includes ₦324 billion earmarked for infrastructure projects, ₦166 billion for the health sector, ₦75.6 billion for educational initiatives, and ₦31.4 billion for agricultural programs.
The President projected that the agriculture sector alone could provide around 6,000 new jobs.
He appealed to federal lawmakers to expedite the process to benefit the state’s citizens.
