A wave of suspensions has hit the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, with former Koko/Maiyama federal lawmaker Muhammad Shehu Koko and nine local party officials being relieved of their duties over alleged party infractions.
Those suspended include some of the LGA’s top APC figures, such as Vice Chairman Muhammad Danyado, Secretary Biyaminu Muhammad, and Women Leader Talatu Zauro.
Several other officers, including those overseeing youth affairs, finance, and welfare, were also named in the action.
The suspension, confirmed through a letter seen by Channels Television, cited allegations of anti-party activities, lack of loyalty, and acts of harassment directed at the party’s leadership.
The document was signed by key APC leaders in the area, including Muhammad Maibarga and Sirajo Usman Koko, alongside over a dozen party elders.
While no official statement has come from Shehu Koko’s aides, insiders suggest his suspected senatorial ambition may have contributed to the fallout, possibly unsettling influential figures within the party.
