A 27-year-old woman, Rukayat Sodiq, has been remanded at the Agodi Correctional Centre in Ibadan over the suspected killing of her husband, Abiodun Ibironke.
The order was issued by Magistrate T.G. Daodu of the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, who explained that the court lacked the jurisdiction to hear the matter.
As a result, Sodiq’s plea was not taken. The magistrate directed that she remain in custody until legal advice is received from the Directorate of Public Prosecution. The case was adjourned until May 22 for mention.
