SGF Akume emphasizes faith-based governance at PFN biennial conference

At the 18th Biennial Conference of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) held over the weekend at Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Dr. George Akume, reaffirmed the importance of faith-based governance.

In his keynote address, Akume congratulated Bishop Francis Wale Oke on his re-election as PFN President and praised the Fellowship for its substantial role in Nigeria’s national development. With over 40 million members nationwide, PFN continues to be a key force in promoting peace, unity, and harmony across the country.

“The government is fully committed to collaborating with faith-based organisations to foster national progress. Our administration is grounded in spirituality, and under the Renewed Hope Agenda, we are prioritising security, fighting corruption, and reforming education, especially through investments in STEM,” Akume stated.

He emphasized that faith and governance must work together to build a stronger Nigeria, urging continued collaboration between the government and religious institutions to promote positive societal change.

The PFN Biennial Conference brought together top Christian leaders, clergy, and government officials, highlighting the crucial role faith plays in nation-building.
