Petrol price drops at Dangote depot as FG reinforces Naira-for-Crude policy

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has implemented a ₦13 cut in its gantry price of petrol, bringing the ex-depot rate down to ₦867 per litre.

The reduction was confirmed by company officials on Thursday and reflected on the price-tracking platform petroleumprice.ng.

The adjustment is expected to influence pump prices at several filling stations linked to the refinery through supply agreements.

Outlets like Ardova Plc, MRS Oil & Gas, and Heyden may now review their pump prices to approximately ₦910, down from about ₦925.

Industry insiders link the price drop to a strategic dialogue between the Dangote Group and Finance Minister Wale Edun, which took place on Tuesday.

Following the meeting, federal authorities reiterated their commitment to the naira-for-crude initiative previously paused under former NNPCL chief Mele Kyari asserting that the policy remains active and forms a cornerstone of Nigeria’s energy strategy.

The refinery’s move is anticipated to offer mild relief in fuel costs, signaling ongoing collaboration between private refiners and the federal government to stabilize the sector.
