IGP Egbetokun reacts to calls for his dismissal

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has addressed the recent calls for his dismissal by President Bola Tinubu.

During a Thursday meeting with commanders in Abuja, Egbetokun stated that he respects the right of individuals to express their opinions and will not respond to demands for his removal.

“I won’t respond to a call for my removal. Anybody can call for my removal,” Egbetokun said. “Anybody who doesn’t like me can come out tomorrow and say, ‘remove the IG.’ That’s not a problem. We are all entitled to our opinion.”
