Ex-Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu dies at 74

Christian Chukwu, revered as a legend in Nigerian football circles, has died at the age of 74.

Back in 2021, Chukwu was forced to deny widely circulated rumours about his supposed demise. During his 70th birthday celebration on January 4, he clarified he was very much alive.

“I am terribly embarrassed with this news that I am dead. Several people have been calling me from across the world since the news broke. I am still investigating the source of the story,” he said.

Known across the football world as “Chairman,” Chukwu’s legacy as both a player and manager remains influential.
