Atiku, El-Rufai, Tambuwal’s visit to Buhari in Kaduna sparks political controversy

A group of high-profile politicians, led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s visit to former President Buhari has sparked political controversies on social media

However, both Atiku and Nasir El-Rufai, who were among the high-profile politicians, have clarified that the visit had no political agenda.

According to Atiku, who posted details of the visit on his 𝕏 page, the gathering was part of his traditional post-Sallah activities in his home state, Adamawa.

He described the moment as joyful, revealing that Buhari’s humour had him laughing heartily.

The delegation included former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, former Communications Minister Isa Pantami, and several others.

El-Rufai remarked that the visit was purely social, aimed at maintaining bonds of camaraderie, not political scheming.

He also joked that their critics shouldn’t be alarmed, describing the gathering as one between old allies and mentees who simply wanted to share prayers and a good meal.
