Four suspected kidnappers nabbed in Anambra police raid

-

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested four individuals suspected of kidnapping, including a woman, following a raid on a criminal hideout in Uke, located in Idemili North Local Government Area.

The suspects—Chigozie Udolisa (also known as T. Dollars), Anaolu Joseph (Blue), Chukwuka Udolisa (Udokamiri), and Chinaza Udemezue—were apprehended on Friday evening by officers from the Rapid Response Squad and Anti-Kidnapping Unit based in Awkuzu.

Police spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday.

He said the operation was carried out around 7:30 p.m. on May 9, after actionable intelligence led officers to the suspects’ location.

During the raid, police recovered three vehicles: a black Lexus GS 350 (registration ENU 561 LY), an ash Toyota Camry (UWN 614 HK), and a navy-blue Toyota Corolla (UMZ 135 AD).

Other recovered items included an HP laptop, a car-painting machine, vehicle electrical components, and substances believed to be crystal methamphetamine, commonly called “Mkpurummiri.”

Ikenga disclosed that the suspects admitted their involvement in kidnapping, armed robbery, and vehicle theft.

The female suspect, Chinaza Udemezue, reportedly revealed that her partner fled the scene with firearms upon spotting law enforcement officers.

The police say the suspects are currently being interrogated, and efforts are ongoing to track down other gang members who managed to escape.
