Federal High Court reassigns five judges

-

Justice John Tsoho, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, has directed the prompt transfer of five judges to new divisions across the country as part of ongoing administrative realignments.

The news came via a statement endorsed by Catherine Christopher, the court’s Director of Information.

The redeployment details are as follows: Justice M. Umar is now posted to Abuja from Enugu; Justice Tijjani Ringim moves from Gombe to Yola; Justice M. Segun-Bello is reassigned to Enugu from Abakaliki; Justice Bala Usman transfers from Yola to Awka; and Justice Amina Mohammed takes over at Gombe, leaving her post in Awka.

These transfers are effective immediately. Judges affected by the change have been instructed to prioritize the conclusion of unresolved judgments at their former locations.

In the interim, judicial officers currently stationed in Abakaliki and Katsina will oversee all judicial matters—ongoing and new—within their jurisdictions until further directives are provided.

Furthermore, the statement clarified that cases previously allocated to Court No. 5 in Abuja will now be handled by the judge newly assigned to Abuja, removing the need for case reassignment requests.
