EFCC warns public about fake TikTok accounts

-

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has raised an alarm over the activities of fraudsters who conducted a live session on TikTok on Thursday, February 27, 2025, using the Commission’s logo to deceive and defraud unsuspecting individuals.

According to the EFCC, the scammers managed six fake TikTok accounts, all falsely displaying the Commission’s logo and claiming affiliation with non-existent directorates.

Some of the fraudulent accounts were named “EFCC of Nigeria,” “EFCC Lagos,” “EFCC Delta,” “EFCC of Benin,” “EFCC of Jos,” and “EFCC Saga.”
