Suspected ritualist kills woman, injures son’s private part

A tricycle rider, identified as Amadi Alozie, has allegedly killed his mother while she attempted to save her grandson from a suspected ritual attack in Umudosi community, Obingwa Local Government Area, Abia State.

According to community sources, the tragic incident occurred around 10 p.m. when the woman tried to intervene as her son attacked his child, severing the boy’s private part in what is believed to be a ritual act.

The boy’s loud cries drew the grandmother’s attention.

Furious that his mother had interrupted his plan, Alozie reportedly turned on her and fatally attacked her with a machete before neighbors could arrive.

Witnesses said Alozie’s escape attempt was thwarted when he fell into a pit, allowing his neighbors to rescue the injured child, who is now fighting for his life at an undisclosed hospital.
