Police nab four over abduction threats, cyberstalking in Anambra

Security operatives in Anambra State have apprehended four individuals accused of issuing threats of kidnapping, violence, and online harassment in the Ihiala area.

According to a statement released by the state police command, law enforcement received intelligence about unidentified suspects using threats of abduction and cyber intimidation to harass residents, particularly in the Ihiala region.

Following the tip-off, officers launched a swift operation on April 10, 2025, at approximately 2:53 p.m.

This resulted in the arrest of four male suspects: Chimezie Ezebuo, Chinaza Ndimani, Chinecherem Okafor, and Nzube Azubuike — all from Okohia in Ihiala.

The police disclosed that mobile phones and SIM cards allegedly used in issuing the threats were recovered during the arrest.

The suspects reportedly confessed to the crimes and are currently in custody for further investigation.

The command reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding the public and ensuring that anyone involved in actions that incite fear or disrupt peace faces the full weight of the law.
