Police launch nighttime sweep, arrest dozens across FCT black spots

Authorities in Abuja have intensified their fight against crime with a coordinated night raid that led to the arrest of 62 suspects.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command carried out the operation late Wednesday night, April 17, focusing on uncompleted buildings and areas flagged for illicit activities.

The joint task force, drawn from police divisions in Kubwa, Nyanya, Kabusa, Lokogoma, Utako, Gwarinpa, and Bwari, stormed multiple locations identified as criminal hubs.

According to a police insider, officers seized “dried plant materials believed to be cannabis” along with various controlled substances during the raid.

“The suspects are currently undergoing thorough profiling and interrogation,” the source disclosed. “Anyone found linked to criminal acts will be arraigned without delay.”
