Police bust N150m worth of tramadol hidden under cement in Kano

Officers of the Kano State Police Command have uncovered a shipment of suspected tramadol tablets valued at over N150 million, cleverly concealed beneath bags of cement in a mini truck.

The discovery was made during a coordinated sting operation in Alharini village, located in Ungogo Local Government Area.

According to insider sources, the vehicle was initially believed to be carrying only cement, but a detailed inspection exposed six large bales of illicit drugs hidden underneath.

Authorities apprehended two individuals in connection with the smuggling attempt.

The suspects were identified as Imrana Rabiu, a truck driver from Bene in Kebbi State, and Muntari Shuaibu, a resident of Kofar Gabas in Babura LGA of Jigawa State.

Police sources reaffirmed their resolve to rid the state of narcotics and other illegal activities, emphasizing ongoing collaboration with other security outfits to maintain law and order.
