Kidnappers free church pastor, detains financial secretary who delivered ransom

After several days in captivity, Pastor Samson Ndah Ali of ECWA, Mararaba Aboro, has regained his freedom but his release came at a painful cost for the church community in Sanga LGA, Kaduna State.

Ali, who had barely spent two weeks at his new station, was abducted from his home in the early hours of April 8.

The kidnappers, who initially demanded a hefty N100 million ransom, eventually accepted a yet-to-be-disclosed amount delivered by Danjuma, the church’s financial secretary.

However, instead of releasing both parties, the kidnappers detained Danjuma, sparking fear and confusion in the community.

In a Facebook post, Pastor Ali confirmed his release and the troubling new development, asking for prayers for his colleague still held captive.
