In a major security breakthrough, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) carried out airstrikes on Monday night, hitting a well-known hideout used by armed bandits in Malam Aibo, a settlement deep within the Tsaskiya forest in Katsina State.
The operation, part of ongoing efforts to neutralize criminal elements in the North-West, was confirmed by Bakatsine, a security analyst based in northern Nigeria.
Sharing the update via his verified Twitter account, he wrote, “GOOD NEWS: Yesterday night, NAF airstrikes hit Malam Aibo camp in Tsaskiya forest, Katsina State,” commending the military for its precise targeting of the criminal enclave.
In a separate development, officers from the Dutsin-Ma Police Division successfully rescued several women who had been abducted in Wawaye.
Their swift response reportedly caught the kidnappers off guard, forcing them to abandon their victims and flee the scene.
Bakatsine praised the local police for their bravery, stating, “Kudos to the Dutsin-Ma Police Division for rescuing kidnapped women in Wawaye! Their quick response forced the bandits to flee the community.”
Locals have lauded the coordinated actions of the security agencies, expressing hope that the sustained offensive will lead to lasting peace in the troubled region.
