The FCT Police Command has launched an investigation into the theft of a black Toyota Hilux vehicle assigned to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu, after it was reported stolen on Friday in Abuja.
The vehicle was taken while an official from the ONSA attended Juma’at prayers.
According to sources familiar with the incident, the vehicle had been parked around 1:05 p.m. near the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) complex in Area 10.
The ONSA official left the vehicle to pray at a nearby mosque, but upon returning, the vehicle was no longer there.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama first shared the details of the theft on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that the theft was reported to the Garki Police Division at around 2:00 p.m., leading to an immediate police response.
In response to the incident, the FCT Police initiated a citywide search operation, stationing officers at key checkpoints across the capital’s major routes.
Authorities have confirmed the theft and stated that a thorough investigation is underway to recover the stolen vehicle and apprehend those responsible.
