The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has initiated a probe into an alleged N20 billion land fraud across various locations in the state.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday in Kano, the commission’s chairman, Muhuyi Magaji, disclosed that 15 individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the case. Among those arrested are the registrar of the Kano State High Court, three legal practitioners, and four officials from the Ministry of Lands.
Additionally, a former Deputy Sheriff and a court bailiff were also implicated and apprehended as part of the ongoing investigation.

According to Magaji, the suspects reportedly attempted to offer operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) a N2 million bribe, which was flatly rejected.
He extended appreciation to the Chief Judge of Kano State for their unwavering support and cooperation in the matter.
Furthermore, Magaji acknowledged Governor Abba Yusuf’s firm stance on the issue, stating that the governor has given the commission full authority to bring all culprits to justice, irrespective of their status or influence.
