City season to forget: Guardiola eyes champions league salvation

-

Manchester City’s season has been a disaster, with the team failing to retain the Premier League title and getting knocked out early in the Champions League. They were also stunned by Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final.

Despite this, manager Pep Guardiola believes the only way to redeem their campaign is to qualify for the Champions League next term.

Guardiola pointed out that most top teams competing for a Champions League spot haven’t won any major trophies this season, except for Liverpool (Premier League), Newcastle (Carabao Cup), and City themselves (Community Shield).

He emphasized the importance of qualifying for the Champions League, saying City need to secure four points from their last two games to achieve this goal.

With a game in hand, City will face Bournemouth on Tuesday before the final round of matches on Sunday. The battle for the top five spots is intense, with only a single point separating third-placed Newcastle and seventh-placed Nottingham Forest.
