Nigeria Customs achieve record-breaking daily revenue collection of N58.5bn

Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, announced that the service achieved a historic daily revenue milestone of N58.5 billion on June 13, 2024.

This was revealed during a press conference marking his one-year anniversary in office.

Beli Media reports that upon Adeniyi’s assumption of the CGC role, the service’s revenue surged to N4.49 trillion, a significant increase from the previous year’s N2.58 trillion.

The average monthly revenue collection also saw a substantial 70.13 percent rise, reaching N343 billion compared to N202 billion previously.

Adeniyi credited the revenue growth to various initiatives, including the recovery of N15 billion through the Revenue Review Performance Recovery and N2.79 billion from the 90-day window for the regularization of documents for uncustomed vehicles.

He highlighted a notable 122.35 percent increase in revenue collection during the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in the previous year.

Additionally, he emphasized the record daily revenue achievement of N58.5 billion on June 13, 2024, as a significant milestone for the Nigeria Customs Service.
