Nigerian internet celebrity Bobrisky has broken his silence on the recent arrest of outspoken social media activist, VeryDarkMan (VDM), offering a mix of reflection and criticism.
In a video shared online, Bobrisky admitted to initially reacting with laughter upon hearing about VDM’s arrest but said he later took down the video out of empathy. “I laughed at first because of our past issues, but I deleted the video because I’m naturally a kind person,” he explained.
Bobrisky recalled how VDM had previously mocked him during his own legal troubles in 2023.
“He was happy and laughing when I had my own problem, but he forgot that karma always comes back,” he added.
He also addressed the widespread “Free VeryDarkMan” campaign trending on social media, accusing many of the supporters of being more interested in gaining attention than fighting for justice.
“Where were all of you when he was insulting and hurting others? Now you’re shouting ‘Free him’ just for clout,” Bobrisky said.
Despite their history of online clashes, Bobrisky emphasized that he harbors no personal resentment toward VDM.
“I don’t follow him, and I’ve never met him. I don’t wish him evil, but I’ll defend my brand if anyone tries to bring it down.”
