Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, has secured approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to introduce eight new academic programmes, following a successful accreditation process.
This milestone was confirmed in a statement issued by Rabi’u Wada, the Polytechnic’s Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, who described the development as a key achievement that affirms the institution’s academic quality.
Wada noted that the NBTE’s endorsement, delivered by Fatima Umar, Director of Polytechnic Programmes at the board, not only approves the new programmes but also acknowledges the school’s growing relevance in meeting emerging educational and market demands.
Among the newly sanctioned courses are HNDs in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Data Protection, Strategic Communication and Media Studies, Taxation, Cooperative Economics and Management, Crime Management, and Film and Multimedia Production. A National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning was also included.
NBTE also highlighted operational areas that need to be strengthened, such as infrastructure, funding, and equipment provision.
The Polytechnic is reportedly making efforts to address these areas to ensure smooth implementation.
Speaking on the achievement, Rector Sani Usman said the development validates the Polytechnic’s strategic vision and its readiness to deliver modern, high-quality education in fields crucial to Nigeria’s future.
